Novira Therapeutics Inc. has raised $23mm in the first tranche of its Series A financing co-led by first-time backers 5AM Ventures and Canaan Partners, which each added a board member (5AM’s partner will serve as chairman). CRO WuXi PharmaTech and returning shareholders BioAdvance, Mid-Atlantic Angel Group, Robin Hood Ventures, and Delaware Crossing Investor Group also contributed to the round.
