Sanofi buys Fovea for €370mm in cash and earn-outs

Executive Summary
Sanofi-Aventis will pay €370mm ($541mm) to acquire all of privately held French ophthalmics company Fovea Pharmaceuticals SA. According to the companies, the purchase price includes a significant amount up front (which Elsevier Business Intelligence estimates at about 25%) and the remainder in development-based earn-outs.
