Forward genetics start-up, Phenomix Corp. (focuses on rapid target identification and validation) secured $12mm in a Series A financing round co-led by Sofinnova Ventures and Alta Partners, and also included Bay City Capital, CM Capital Investments, CMEA Ventures, Novartis BioVenture Fund, Rothschild Bioscience Managers, Versant Ventures, and other investors. The company has an option to draw on an additional $20mm as needed.
