Executive Summary
China's State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine has received approval from the State Council for a plan to restructure its organization and personnel. SATCM will remain a state bureau directly under the Ministry of Health, taking charge of the promotion of TCM, as well as cultivating talent; however, some of its power of administrative approval will be revoked, in line with a previous announcement by the State Council, or cabinet. In addition to SATCM's existing six departments, there will be a new division of planning and finance, with responsibility for medium- and long-term TCM development planning, industry policy formulation, bureau budget, accounting, financing and asset management, key project management, and the general survey, protection and development of TCM resources.
