Executive Summary
Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency has developed an international strategic plan that it hopes will result in speedier uptake of safer and more effective drugs and medical devices1. Developed in co-ordination with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare2, the plan outlines the framework of international activities that the PMDA intends to carry out over the next five years, ie between financial years 2009 and 2013.
