Vietnam Lays Out Plan To Build Pharma Raw Materials Industry

Vietnam is speeding development of an industry for developing raw materials for pharmaceuticals with a 2015 deadline for being able to satisfy domestic demand. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved the plan that would produce the products domestically instead of relying on imports. By 2015 the plan envisions Vietnam producing 20 percent of domestic demand, rising to 40 percent by 2020 and 70 percent by 2025.
