China Releases TCM Supplementary Document For Healthcare Reform Plan

China's State Council recently released a circular of opinion on supporting and boosting TCM development. As a supplementary document to the healthcare reform plan, it reflects the government's attitude and determination in promoting the sector. Based on a two-year extensive survey, the opinion stresses that public health will maximize traditional medicine's unique advantages in disease prevention and control by including TCM services, methodologies and technology. Furthermore, TCM will be taken into consideration when improving grassroots healthcare systems. According to the vice minister of health, TCM hospitals are also among the 2,000 county hospitals, which will be given governmental support within the next three years.
