The head of a major biotechnology company in Vietnam blames the recent surge in the prices of vaccines on the cost of imported ingredients and compliance with government regulations. Nguyen Thu Van, director of Vaccine and Bio-Technology Products Co. No. 1, said the cost of being a Good Manufacturing Practice company is part of the reason for the high costs of vaccines.
