Mani Of Japan To Expand In Southeast Asia With New Laos Plant

Japan's Mani plans to expand its business of making surgical needles to Laos by the end of this year as part of a continuing expansion in Southeast Asia. Mani expects to open a new factory in Vientiane with at least 30 workers, increasing staff to many as 400 in the next four years. Mani, which also makes ophthalmic knives, has two plants operating in Vietnam and one in Myanmar, all producing more than half of the company's products.
