Sekisui Chem Of Japan To Try Buy Of U.S. American Diagnostica

A Japanese chemical company plans to buy American Diagnostica, a mid-size U.S. maker of diagnostics. The acquisition would give Sekisui Chemical an entry into the U.S. diagnostics market. Sekisui plans to buy all outstanding shares through its Sekisui America subsidiary at a price not disclosed, but said to be more than $30 million. The acquisition would provide Sekisui an opening to sell its own products for diagnosing thrombosis and measuring cholesterol. ADI products would be marketed by Sekisui in Japan and China.
