French makers of medical devices have set their sights on Malaysia as one of several small markets to enter. The French industry already is the fifth largest in the world and sees small Asian countries as new opportunities as competition among larger companies becomes even more intensive. The head of France's medical technologies trade association says Malaysia is a fairly new country on the radar screen of its 230 members, with its location seen as a gateway to the Asian market.
