Australian scientists report development of a type of vaccine that could prevent 20 percent of all cancers and cure others by killing the chronic viral infectious diseases responsible. The University of South Australia professors said they are working on a platform technology capable of dealing with several of the cancer-causing diseases. The research, still in the preclinical stage, is on a method to deliver a safe, non-pathogenic virus through injections similar to that of vaccines that guard against cervical cancer.
