Japan Faces Suits By Possible Million-Plus Hepatitis B Carriers

Although Japanese authorities settled a group of hepatitis C cases out of court, it still could be sued by more than a million hepatitis B patients. A suit is expected to be filed in Sapporo District Court seeking compensation for several hepatitis B patients who assert they contracted the virus through mandatory vaccinations. The several plaintiffs in that suit seek between $152,000 and $606,000 in compensation in addition to help in treating their disease.
