To expand in the global medical information market, Fuji Film took ownership shares in American radiology information provider Empiric Systems and Chinese electronic medical chart maker Beijing Tianjian Yuanda Tech. Through acquiring Empiric, Fuji is able to integrate Synapse PACS with Empiric's RIS systems and expand ASP and remote imaging service in the U.S. Empiric had $500 million in sales in 2007.
