Fuji Film Buys Two Firms In The U.S. And China To Expand Markets

To expand in the global medical information market, Fuji Film took ownership shares in American radiology information provider Empiric Systems and Chinese electronic medical chart maker Beijing Tianjian Yuanda Tech. Through acquiring Empiric, Fuji is able to integrate Synapse PACS with Empiric's RIS systems and expand ASP and remote imaging service in the U.S. Empiric had $500 million in sales in 2007. In China, through acquiring over half of Tianjian shares, Fuji will utilize Tianjian's sales network to further grow market shares for Synapse systems, and to also strengthen marketing for FCR digital X-ray diagnostic systems and digestive endoscopes.
