Astellas won a patent infringement lawsuit against Nagoya, Japan-based generic drug maker Taiyo Yakuhin Co., for its oral cephalosporin antibiotic Cefzon capsule. In a Dec. 25 ruling, the Supreme Court in Tokyo threw out Taiyo's appeal. Astellas has other patent lawsuits pending against Taiyo. (Click here for more - may require subscription.
