On Jan. 1, 2008, David W. Powell became president of Johnson & Johnson in Japan. He also serves as chairman of the company. Former chairman Mr. Matsumoto became the top adviser. Mr. Powell joined Johnson & Johnson America in 2001 as worldwide president of Ethicon Company, a J&J subsidiary that produces and markets surgical suture threads, and he was also worldwide president of Advanced Sterilization Products Japan, which sells sterilization equipments for clinics and hospitals.
