Allergan Opens Pharma R&D Company in India (India)

Allergan Inc. has launched a pharmaceutical research and development firm in Bangalore, India. The Allergan Pharmaceutical Development Centre India will concentrate on implementing global pharmaceutical research and development projects that Allergan conducts in India. Allergan Worldwide executive vice president (R&D) Scott Whitcup says, "R&D activities at the center will initially focus on therapies in areas such as inflammatory and infective conditions of the eye, movement disorders, and urological indications." He adds that the opening of the center will allow close scientific collaboration with leading researchers and medical professionals in India.
