Bulgaria fights faked pharmacist diplomas

Executive Summary

Bulgaria's pharmaceutical union (BPU) says it has identified two faked master diplomas in pharmacy among those submitted last year by individuals wishing to open pharmacies, while six other diplomas are still being examined. The national law on medicines, which was adopted last spring after a long debate, allowed only qualified pharmacists to establish, own and run pharmacies in the country (Scrip Online, May 23rd, 2007).
