Since it was licensed two years ago, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) and the FDAhave closely monitored the safety of Merck & Co's human papilloma virus vaccine, Gardasil. Now, the CDC says young girls and women who have received the vaccine are not more likely to have syncope (fainting), seizures or other pre-specified adverse events in the first large US safety study since licensure.
