Zafgen appoints CCO and director

Executive Summary
Cambridge, Massachussetts-based Zafgen, a biopharmaceutical company developing treatments for severely obese patients, has appointed Alicia Secor to the newly created position of chief commercial officer, and John L LaMattina to the board of directors. Ms Secor most recently served as senior vice-president and chief operating officer of Synageva BioPharma, having spent 15 years previously at Genzyme. Dr LaMattina spent 30 years at Pfizer where he ultimately served as senior vice-president. He is currently a senior partner at PureTech Ventures.
