Steve Bates appointed CEO of BIA

Executive Summary

After pondering the decision for three months, the BioIndustry Association has appointed Steve Bates CEO, effective from 2 July 2012. Mr Bates has worked in biotech and the highest levels of UK government for 15 years, having served as senior director of external affairs and market access at Genzyme UK and Ireland, as well as working on the establishment of the Office for Life Science. Mr Bates takes over the position from Glyn Edwards, interim CEO since April this year (scripintelligence.com, 4 April 2012).
