The Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI) has appointed Erik Iverson, currently associate general counsel for global health at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, to the newly created position of executive vice-president of business development & external affairs, effective in September 2011. Mr Iverson has worked at the Gates Foundation for seven years.
