Another Ukrainian health minister dismissed amid slow healthcare reform

Executive Summary

Ukraine's president, Viktor Yanukovich, has appointed Dr Alexander Anischenkoas the country’s new health minister after he dismissed Dr Ilya Yemets who took the office on 21 December 2010. The official reason for Dr Yemets' dismissal was his failure to deliver on the healthcare reform. The president said that he could not see "clear and holistic" understanding of the reform within the health ministry.
