Irish pharmaceutical services company Intertek BioClin has opened its new laboratory facility at the Pharma Plaz development in Monksland, Athlone. The tailor-built 900m² facility is 40% larger than Intertek’s previous Athlone facility, offering two 80m² laboratories, a bioanalytical laboratory and a pharmaceutical product analysis laboratory, as well as offices, pharmaceutical stability storage and a secure document archive. Intertek, which provides laboratory testing, outsourcing, consulting and certification services, acquired Bioclin, a compliant contract research laboratory with about 20 staff, in February this year. Intertek has over 1,000 laboratories and offices, with over 21,000 employees in 110 countries.
