The UK's HM Revenue & Customs has changed the rules for the seizure of goods suspected of infringing intellectual property rights, which includes counterfeit medicines. The changes, which take effect from July 3rd, bring the UK in line with EU Regulation 1383/2003 which has been used by Dutch and German customs authorities to seize Indian-made generic drugs in-transit through the EU to developing countries.
