The deal gives the group an interest in the pharmacy and allows it to expand further into internet shopping, says the company. The financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed. The pharmacy, which allows patients to order repeat prescriptions online and have them securely delivered to the home, was launched by TNT in 2007 alongside partners CEVA Logistics and Sierra Nova. 50,000 patients used the pharmacy last year, and it has also proven popular with major health insurers as it is more cost-effective than the traditional pharmacy model, TNT says.
