Pfizer appoints new chief medical officer

Executive Summary
Pfizer has named Dr Freda Lewis-Hall as its chief medical officer and senior vice-president. Dr Lewis-Hall, who joins from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, will be responsible for medical, patient safety, regulatory affairs and quality assurance. Although she joins from a small pharmaceutical company, Dr Lewis-Hall was previously senior vice-president of medical affairs at Bristol-Myers Squibb, vice-president of R&D at Pharmacia and product team leader at Lilly.
