Fira Cosmetics will implement screening measures to prevent children under age 13 from registering to use interactive features on its Web site,, according to the Children's Advertising Review Unit of the Council for Better Business Bureau. Fira also will institute a tracking mechanism to prevent children from re-registering on the site by misrepresenting their ages and will purge members under age 13 who have already registered, CARU adds in its November Case Reports. The watchdog group found Fira's Web site targeted children under 13, but was not in compliance with CARU's guidelines or those of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act...
