Executive Summary

Company signs exclusive, worldwide agreement with Home Shipping Network to market and distribute Hydron skin care products through electronic venues. In addition, HSN holds a non-exclusive license to market its products through all other forms of distribution in "select countries" outside the U.S. The one-year agreement will renew automatically if Hydron meets certain sales goals. A seven-product skin care sampler will be introduced for $25.95 in a special opening broadcast Sept. 16. "Hydron Skin Solution Hours" will then air regularly. The line will be promoted through direct mail, sampling and advertising efforts. Hydron founder and former President Harvey Tauman will serve as the company's HSN spokesperson; the exec has reconciled with the firm since being ousted in 1997 (1"The Rose Sheet" Oct. 6, 1997, p. 8)
