Michael O'Neill (Isotron) and Pat Forristal (Stryker Orthopaedics) have been elected chairman and vice-chairman, respectively, of the Irish Medical Devices Association (IMDA). Mr O'Neill has been executive director of Isotron in Ireland (Tullamore and Westport), which specialises in sterilisation and microbial reduction services, since 1998. He was previously quality and technical manager at Millipore Corporation in Cork, and chief microbiologist of Becton Dickinson (Ireland). Mr Forristal has been vice-president and general manager of the Carrigtohill, Cork-based operations of Stryker Orthopaedics, which specialises in hip and knee endoprostheses, since 1998.
