HyperBranch Medical has obtained a CE mark for its OcuSeal liquid ocular bandage for the protection of eye wounds after trauma or surgery. The single-use synthetic hydrogel device polymerises in a moist field and degrades naturally as the wound heals. It can be applied directly to corneal, conjunctiva, and sclera surfaces. The Durham, North Carolina-based company says it expects further CE marks for its dura and hernia products in 2008.
