Executive Summary
Metabolex (drugs to treat diabetes and other metabolic disorders) has raised $75mm with the private placement of shares to lead investors Bay City Capital (return investor), Biotech Turnaround Fund BV (new), and Alta Partners (new) CDP Capital Technology Ventures (new). Existing shareholder Charter Ventures and new investors KBC, Birchmere Ventures, Venrock Associates, Versant Ventures, Novo AS, and Merlin Biomed Group also participated. CIBC World Markets acted as placement agent for the transaction.
