Executive Summary
As part of a strategy announced almost a year ago to exit the vaccines business, Shire Pharmaceuticals Group PLC is selling all the assets of its Canadian-based vaccines unit Shire Biologics, the subsidiary of Shire BioChem, to ID Biomedical (vaccines and gene identification) for £66.4mm ($120mm) or 4.8 times the unit's 2003 sales revenues.
