Executive Summary
Abbott Laboratories is buying UK medical device company Biocompatibles' cardiovascular stent business for $234.5mm in cash. The deal gives Abbott worldwide manufacturing, marketing, development, and distribution rights to the BiodivYsio cardiovascular stent line it has been selling exclusively in the US since 1999, when it licensed the rights from Biocompatibles.
