LIM Innovations: A New Standard In Prosthetic Sockets
People living with a lower limb amputation have less-than-desirable prosthetic device options to help regain mobility and independence – available prosthetics are costly, uncomfortable, not adjustable, take weeks to make as they are hand-fabricated, require multiple office visits with a prosthetist, and need to be replaced about every three years. LIM Innovations Inc. hopes to improve amputees’ lives with a prosthetic socket that can be mass-manufactured and then assembled to fit and mold to each patient, and to be remolded over time.
