Private Company Edition: Iambic, formerly known as Entos, closed a $100m series B venture capital round to advance its AI-discovered therapeutics. Also, Evozyne raised $81m and Acesion brought in €45m in series B rounds, while Mogrify added $10m to bring its series A to $46m.

VC data from Evaluate show quarter-over-quarter drops in the number of biopharma companies raising private cash and in the amount of money raised as investors ride out public market troubles.

Private Company Edition: Genesis raised $200m, Rapport brought in $150m and Cellares closed a $255m round. Also, Ferring got $300m up front in a royalty deal, Fore Biotherapeutics raised a $75m series D and Vaxxas won a $3.67m Wellcome grant to advance a next-generation typhoid vaccine.

With only weeks to go in 2022, the three major pharmas each had inked between 16 and 20 deals. Meanwhile, Pfizer has been less busy with 12 deals, but those include M&A totaling $18.2bn.
