AstraZeneca To Continue Collaboration With Shionogi On Crestor

AstraZeneca CEO David Brennan stated Oct. 8 that the company will keep the same relationship with Japanese pharmaceutical company Shionogi, after Shionogi's purchase of American firm Sciele Pharma. Currently, AstraZeneca and Shionogi are collaborating in marketing hyperlipidemia drug Crestor (rosuvustatin). Brennan also disclosed that the company will keep the current staff level of 3,200 in Japan, amid its effort to cut work force and streamline operations in the U.S. and Europe.
