Saudi FDA blocks import of "improperly stored" devices under new law

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority has begun blocking the entry of foreign medical devices stored or shipped under improper conditions. The action, which commenced in the last quarter of 2009, has resulted in 1,386 laboratory and diagnostic equipment items being stopped at Saudi ports of entry as of early February1.
