Executive Summary
James Wilson has been appointed chair of the board of directors at MEDEC, the Canadian medical technology industry association. Mr Wilson, who is vice president, clinical research and government affairs at Biomet International, has over 30 years experience in the medtech industry. He has worked on MEDEC’s sector committees over many years, chairing both the Orthopaedic and Value of Technology committees He is also the founder of the Canadian Orthopaedic Care Strategy Group, which is designed to help guide musculoskeletal health policy development.

EuropaBio appoints new chairman
EuropaBio, the European biotech industry association, has appointed Stephan Tanda as its new association chair. Mr Tanda, a member of the managing board of life sciences and materials sciences firm DSM, succeeds GlaxoSmithKline's Andrea Rappagliosi, who will remain a member of the EuropaBio board.
