The Beijing Disease Control Department will achieve full coverage of HIV screening – CD4 tests for residents of the city this year. It has been reported that the mortality of AIDS patients who were receiving treatment dropped to 0.025% last year, better than the corresponding rate of 1% in developed countries. The department will also carry out lung cancer epidemiological studies and investigations of the relationship between public iodine nutritional status and thyroid diseases, and continue to carry out the monitoring of the impact of PM2.5 air pollution on human health.
