Some of Japan's major retail chains, such as Aeon and Bic Camera are entering the market of on-line sales of over-the-counter drugs in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling that eased the ban on them. Aeon has expanded from Category 3 drugs, those deemed the least risky, into Category 2 drugs such as cold medicines. It says 127 of its stores will handle on-line sales of 800 drugs in the category. Bic Camera is just beginning Category 3 sales and expects to expand to Category 2 within the year.
