China’s Ministry of Health recently published healthcare statistics for the first quarter. As of the end of March, the number of health institutions increased 18,531 to 959,000, including 22,000 hospitals and 922,000 grassroots medical institutes, up 1,218 and 17,196 respectively. Healthcare institutions at community, county and town, and village levels totaled 33,000, 37,000, and 665,000 respectively, up 114, 574, and 15,494. The number of health clinics grew 1,597 to 176,000. From January to March, total patient visits rose 12.5% to 1.56 billion. This included 16.1% and 10.2% rises to 550 million and 960 million in hospitals and grassroots medical institutions. (Click Here For More - Chinese Language)
