China's API production capacity is estimated at over 2 million tons, one-fifth of the global capacity, announced CCCMHPIE April 28.

The country's API trade reached $26.22 billion in 2010, skyrocketing 25.02% and making up 43.56% of China's total drug trade. API exports went up 26.19% to $20.3 billion. API imports totaled $5.92 billion, increasing 21.18%. Asia, Europe and North America, where markets equally rose by more than 20%, accounted for 87.29% of China's total API exports to 178 nations.
