However, a recent survey found that the reform may have an adverse effect on some rural pharmacies. For example, in Jiangsu Province, a pharmacy chain company has seen profit drop of 3-5% since the end of last year. Another pharmacy chain company plans to counter the county hospital reform by providing drugs not covered by the essential drug lists.
