Yokohama Biotech Startup To Grow Biosimilar Business

Yokohama BioResearch & Supply has started a contract biosimilar development and manufacturing business.
Targeting medium and small sized drug makers, the company projects more drug makers will enter the biosimilar space. With a sales goal of ¥600 million in five years, the company will conduct research for drug makers that do not have their own biopharmaceutical knowhow and capacity. Negotiation are ongoing with one firm, and YBRS plans to eventually expand to three companies by 2015. (Click here for more – Japanese language)
