Japan Health Minister Expects Local H1N1 Vaccine By End Of October

Japan's health minister said the government expects to have its first doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine from Japanese sources ready for distribution by the end of October. Health, Labor and Welfare Minister Joichi Masuzoe said the ministry is prepared to bypass requiring clinical trials on foreign-made vaccines as long as they pass trials in another nation. The government already had said it was considering importing the vaccine, but Masuzoe said that and setting priorities for those to receive the shots would be decided in September.
