A new amendment was added to the Food Safety Bill Feb. 25, after its fourth review. Supervision of food safety will reach a new level as a result of the new amendment. One breakthrough will be the establishment of a Food Safety Committee within the State Council with the main responsibility of taking charge of high-level coordination across different relevant agencies and providing guidelines regarding the supervision of food safety.
