Pfizer has opened its first new manufacturing plant in China in 20 years, this one to allow it to nearly triple production of cephalosporin vials of antibiotic. The company intends to make the plant in Northeast China one of its major global suppliers of drugs. Pfizer invested $6 million in the expansion, but overall cost shared with investors was $60.4 million.
