Vietnam drug regulators say Merck Sharp & Dohme, maker of an MMR vaccine distributed to inoculate more than 40,000 children, refuses to correct an allegedly faulty batch. The Drug Administration of Vietnam said the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine it bought to inoculate more than 40,000 children had been mislabeled. The agency asked MSD Vietnam to correct the labels that said the drug should be injected into the muscle, but the company said the risk was not serious and that health care workers simply should be advised to inject it beneath the skin instead.
