India has a government proposal in the works that would have it support innovative pharmaceutical development in the country at the rate of up to $2 billion a year over the next decade. The head of the Department of Pharmaceuticals revealed at a seminar a Vision 2020 white paper is being drafted that would propose $1 billion to $2 billion annually to promote drug discovery.
